Better Homes/Gardens New Cookbook December 6, 2008 The best and most unique feature of this cookbook is that it describes the basic ingredients of food full spectrum: from a very basic level up to an advanced understanding. In an almost textbook-like manner, it details the anatomy of different cuts of meat (with full color photos!) and teaches you which cuts come from which part of an animal, followed later by suggestions of how best to cook and prepare each variation. By giving this much detail, you actually LEARN what you are really dealing with, not just for meat, but for all types of food and recipes. I love books that assume its readers are intelligent, not stupid!
Family Tradition November 29, 2008 Even though I have shelves of cookbooks, this has been my "go to" cookbook since I received it as a wedding gift 52 years ago. I gave one to my own daughter 25 years ago, who loves it as much as I did. I just purchased this one for my 20-year-old granddaughter who has moved out of the dorm and is in her first apartment. If you have only one cookbook, this should be the one!
Great Cookbook! November 21, 2008 This cookbook "dumbifies" everything so that absolutely anybody can cook a good meal. I use mine almost every day and have discovered some great recipes. It's organized well and has good pictures and glossaries. Makes a great bridal shower gift!
Better Homes and Gardens Cookbook November 12, 2008 I bought this revised version for my daughter who grew up eating things I made from my 1970's ring binder copy. The content of this cookbook is great and has some handy information but we both still love my 70's version better.
better homes and gardens cookbook November 11, 2008 one of the best cookbooks I have used. I have been cooking for over 50 years and it has it all.
