5 out of 5 stars Great for girls interested in drawing and fashion design!   January 6, 2009
I bought this for my 9 yr old, she loves to draw girls and loves fashion. She's been creating outfits and different girls by changing their hairstyles and haircolor. I would recommend this for any girl, my younger daughters also love it.

4 out of 5 stars Nice product for a pre-teen or teen interested in fashion   January 5, 2009
Ok, so the only thing holding back my rather reserved fashion-designer-hopeful teen is that she cannot draw well, but can dream up outfits and fashion until the cows come home. Enter this light-box and acetate design templates that can be TRACED, and we have a happy camper. This 12 year old has even set up a corner desk in her room - opposite her school desk - devoted to her fashion. So when school work is finished, she moves to her design desk and she can tack up photos ripped from fashion magazines and then design her own outfits. She hangs her favorite ones. Just a few colored pencils, extra paper for the lightbox and she is a the designing-teen. This was under our Christmas tree, and was a complete surprise to her. She's spent lots of happy hours focused on her designs. I too, think that focus, fine motor skills and just plain old imagination are all benefits of this product, when in the right hands. It's so nice to see my daughter use this and not tire of it. Mostly it pleases me because the TV is off and so is the computer! It's 2009 and a low-tech set of colored pencils and a battery operated light box is keeping her creative juices flowing! The AA batteries have not yet been replaced, but when they are, it will be well worth it! If you have a daughter (or son) interested in fashion, this is a very nice tool that promotes creativity.

4 out of 5 stars Great for little girls   September 28, 2008

I'm sure this is made for a much older girl, but my going on 5-year old daughter loves this. It's great for her fine motor skills and although the faces and hair she makes on the dolls look like that of a typical 5 year old, she is happy making them and proudly taping the finished dolls on her wall. The wardrobe possibilities are endless. I'm making paper dolls out of the original shape on the light box and she is cutting out the outfits she creates. Such a great product!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for a 9 year old   January 12, 2008

I bought this for my 9 year old niece for christmas and she loved it! The light box is fantastic. Only drawback I could see with this product is that there seemed to be too few blank papers to use on the lightbox. I used copy paper and cut it into thirds to give my niece an ample supply of blank paper that would fit the lightbox. It was easy enough to do. I highly recommend this for any little girl interested in fashion design.

4 out of 5 stars Perfect for budding fashion designers   October 30, 2007

My daughter liked everything about this product. We did have to make some adjustments about the light table usage because the batteries were burning out to fast, but we have a special corner of the play area just for this toy and for posting the completed designs. Good for concentration, fine motor skills and creativity. Just don't tell the kids
