I bought this for a girlfriend's daughter because it was one of my favorites growing up. I didn't realize that it came with a little stuffed very hungry caterpillar until I had it in my hands. But apparently it's the best part of the gift! She just turned one, loves her books, and now this one too!
 Very cut and fun, but I wish it was a bit bigger December 26, 2008
I was dissapointed when the plush wouldn't fit through the holes in the book, I think that would have been a nice touch. (There is NO WAY he will fit) I guess I expected the book to be bigger.
But my 6 month old loves it, and it is such a great book I had to give it 4 stars. It is well made and sturdy so I can see it lasting for a while.

I heard on the radio that this book is the #1 best selling fiction book (including adult books) of all time. I remember reading it as a kid and now I read it to my son who is eight months. We began reading it at five months and he loves it! I take his hand and run it accross the little holes. I bought the toy seperatlly and he loves that too...
This book teaches about days of the week, numbers, food items, and the life cycle of a caterpillar.

My only qualm is that the book should be a bit bigger so the caterpillar toy can actually eat his way through all the foods... never mind, my two year old adores it anyway.
