This book should disappear! January 4, 2009 I was so disappointed in this book. IMHO, it is a complete waste of time. Unless you are interested in being "green" you will be bored to death!

This is for my daughter's fiance who is an enthusiastic environmentilist. It is extremely well done, with lots of info and photos. I may even get it for myself because of the good reading!!!!
Fascinating December 23, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
At this point in my life, it takes a lot for something to make me sit up and take notice. I accidently ran across this book while looking for something else. Read the review provided by Amazon. Decided to order the book, then decided it would be ideal Christmas presents for my 3 siblings...and it has pictures! The only thing that disappointed me was that the pictures are all black and white. I would have loved to see some of the pictures in color. I realize that would have driven the price up, but with the info inside, I would have gladly paid more for a softcover book of that caliber with color pictures. Since everybody is becoming more aware of what is happening to our planet - this is an exceptional way to see some of the unknown endangered treasures stashed away in far-away places without leaving your home. Personally, given the opportunity, I would yell from the rooftops that everybody needs to get their hands on a copy of this book...and read it.
500 places to see and a book to get! December 20, 2008 The best thing about this book is that it has places for everybody. No matter if you want adventure, natural landscapes, or art and architecture in a big city, you will find your perfect destination here. And apart of an accurate description and wonderful pictures, every place has information for travelling, hotels, telephone numbers, internet links...
I'd highly recommend this book, it has a wonderful combination between places you will know (or you will have heard about) and more obscure places you'll wish you had known about before!
